National Weather Service forecasts and supporting model guidance point to sunny skies and highs near 96°F in Houston on September 22, aligning with the market's leading 96-97°F bin at 44% implied probability. A weakening heat dome continues to support upper-90s readings amid moderate southeast winds and humidity levels that push heat indices above 100°F, while limited afternoon moisture keeps thunderstorm chances low. Recent climatological context shows September averages in the low 90s, so the current pattern favors the upper end of typical late-summer warmth. Traders appear to weigh the consensus mid-90s outlook heavily, with smaller probabilities on adjacent bins reflecting minor model spread and the potential for small forecast revisions before resolution.
