Current forecast models from the National Weather Service show Houston under a warm, humid air mass with light winds and limited cloud cover expected to push the daily maximum into the mid-90s on September 21. This consensus, supported by recent runs indicating afternoon temperatures near 94–95°F, underpins the market’s heaviest weighting on that range. Seasonal climatology places typical late-September highs around 90–92°F, so any deviation hinges on the strength of daytime heating and boundary-layer moisture. Updated model guidance over the past 24 hours has shown little shift, keeping 96–97°F and 92–93°F as secondary possibilities if mixing or timing of peak insolation varies. Traders appear to be pricing the low probability of stronger cooling or an earlier sea-breeze front arriving before the daily high is reached.
