Recent heavy rainfall and a persistent influx of cooler polar air have suppressed maximum temperatures across São Paulo well below September climatological averages of 24–26°C. Official forecasts from agencies including the Met Office and local monitoring point to a high near 18–19°C on September 16 amid lingering cloud cover and light showers, with limited daytime heating expected under southeasterly flow. This atypical pattern, following the city’s record September rainfall through mid-month, has shifted trader consensus toward the 19–21°C range as the most probable outcomes while assigning lower probability to warmer readings that would require rapid clearing or warmer advection not currently indicated in model guidance.
