This market will resolve to "Yes" if Donald Trump makes any public statement in which he insults Mapquest between market creation and September 6, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". Mapquest includes any parent or subsidiary entity, and any mapquest products. Insults directed only at Mapquest employees or owners will not qualify. A public statement is any written, verbal, or recorded statement which is either made in a public setting, published by the speaker, or on the record to media, and the direct language of which is made publicly available. Statements made in private that are subsequently leaked will not qualify, even if credibly reported. Narrations and paraphrasings do not qualify. Images and videos posted on verified social media accounts will only qualify if they contain insulting language clearly directed at Mapquest, whether within the content itself or in an accompanying caption. Language within the content of a video will only qualify if Donald Trump is clearly portrayed as saying it. Insulting language within the content of a video said by anyone other than Donald Trump or a portrayal thereof will not qualify. A quote post will qualify if added language independently qualifies as an insult, or endorses insulting language directed at Mapquest within the quoted post; a repost of another account's post will not qualify. A public statement qualifies as an insult if it mocks, degrades, or disparages Mapquest. This includes calling Mapquest a clearly insulting trait (e.g., weak, stupid, disloyal, a failure), using an insulting nickname (e.g., the Failing New York Times), using other clearly derogatory language, or using the negative form of a positive trait in a clearly derogatory manner (e.g., “Mapquest is not good”, “The company has no judgment”). Insults directed at Mapquest’s specific actions, policies, or decisions will qualify (e.g., "Mapquest’s decision not to rename Lake Ontario is stupid"). However, comments that Mapquest should change their policies, without insulting the policy itself, will not qualify (e.g., “Mapquest should update the name to Lake America”). A statement made in direct reference to Mapquest will qualify even if Mapquest is not explicitly named, so long as it is reasonably clear from context that they are the subject. The resolution sources will be public statements made by Donald Trump and a consensus of credible reporting.Recent developments center on President Trump’s August 27 executive order renaming Lake Ontario “Lake America” during a Canada trade dispute, prompting MapQuest to publicly refuse compliance unlike Google and Apple Maps. The company’s social media posts and name-generator feature have driven a surge in downloads and visibility, positioning it as a visible holdout. Traders see a modest edge for no direct insult this week because Trump has not yet referenced MapQuest by name in public statements or posts despite the coverage, and his recent focus has remained on tariff measures and other priorities. The short resolution window through September 6 further supports the current 57% implied probability for “No,” reflecting limited evidence of an imminent personal or company-specific reaction.
