Recent National Weather Service and model guidance point to a high near 85°F for Atlanta on September 8, consistent with the 1991–2020 climatological average of 85.3°F and following a cooler 82°F reading on September 7 amid easterly flow and increased cloud cover. Light easterly winds, partly cloudy skies, and low precipitation chances (around 20%) support modest daytime heating without significant moisture or instability to suppress temperatures. This setup aligns with the market-implied 43% probability on 86–87°F and 27.5% on 88–89°F, reflecting trader consensus on near-normal late-summer conditions rather than extremes. Updated NWS forecast discussions and afternoon model runs will refine the exact maximum before resolution.
