Trader consensus on a 14°C high for Wellington on September 9 centers on consistent forecast guidance from MetService-aligned models and observations, projecting a peak near 14°C under mostly clear to partly cloudy skies with moderate northerly winds. Spring climatology supports this range, with September average highs around 13–15°C and no significant synoptic systems or cold outbreaks indicated in recent model runs. Official station data from Wellington International Airport and nearby sites have shown gradual daytime rises to the low-to-mid 13°C range by midday, aligning with the market-implied odds. A realistic shift could occur if an unexpected frontal passage or stronger southerly change arrives ahead of schedule, potentially capping readings at 13°C or pushing them to 15°C depending on exact timing and wind direction.
