Current National Weather Service guidance and ensemble model runs point to an overnight low in the upper 70s for Houston on September 4, driven by persistent southerly flow off the warm Gulf, high dew points near 75°F, and limited nocturnal cooling under partly to mostly clear skies after daytime convection. Scattered sea-breeze thunderstorms and residual moisture from nearby tropical moisture may slightly modulate the minimum depending on exact timing and coverage, keeping probabilities balanced across the 74–81°F range while capping chances for sub-70°F readings. Historical September 4 averages near 75°F provide climatological context, but the absence of an approaching cold front leaves the precise low sensitive to small forecast shifts in wind and cloud cover through the final 48 hours.
