Recent forecasts from the Met Office and ensemble models indicate a maximum of 21–23°C in London on September 2, driven by southwest flow, extensive low cloud, and scattered light rain or showers that limit surface heating. Persistent overcast conditions and modest wind speeds reduce the likelihood of stronger insolation needed for higher peaks, while minimums near 15–16°C support a modest diurnal range. Model spreads and timing uncertainties around any afternoon clearing explain why traders assign the highest implied probabilities to 21°C (42.5%) and 22°C (25.5%), with 20°C also competitive. Official guidance and observational trends from early September align with these central outcomes rather than extremes.
