National Weather Service guidance and ensemble models point to a highest temperature near 68–70°F in San Francisco on September 3, driven by persistent onshore flow and a shallow marine layer that limits daytime heating despite seasonal averages near 70°F. Light drizzle or overcast conditions through midday, tied to a weak frontal remnant, further moderate peak readings while southwesterly winds around 10–15 mph enhance mixing of cooler Pacific air. Trader consensus clusters on 68–71°F bins because model spreads remain narrow, with only modest upside risk if clouds break earlier than expected. Historical analogs from similar early-September patterns show maxima rarely exceeding 72°F under comparable marine influence. Updated NWS and NOAA short-range forecasts tonight will likely refine the exact threshold ahead of market resolution.
