Recent National Weather Service forecasts for San Francisco on September 9 point to an overnight low near 67°F, well above the 1991–2020 climatological average of 56°F for the date, as a heat advisory brings above-normal warmth from offshore flow and reduced marine-layer influence. Model consensus shows limited overnight cooling under mostly cloudy to overcast skies with light winds, keeping minimum temperatures in the mid-to-upper 60s rather than the typical mid-50s. This setup explains why the 66–67°F bin leads market-implied odds at 34.5 percent, while the 55°F-or-below outcome retains 27 percent support from traders anticipating stronger coastal stratus or a late shift in the thermal trough. Resolution will hinge on the official downtown observation once the calendar day ends.
