Paul St-Pierre Plamondon leads trader pricing for Quebec's next premier ahead of the October 5, 2026 general election, reflecting the Parti Québécois's sustained position atop recent opinion polls at around 30 percent, with particular strength among francophone voters. Recent leadership transitions have reshaped the contest: Christine Fréchette assumed the Coalition Avenir Québec helm and premiership in April 2026, producing modest polling gains that have narrowed the gap with the third-place party, while Charles Milliard took the Quebec Liberal leadership in February and has positioned his party as the main federalist alternative, keeping it within a few points of the PQ in multiple surveys. A public dispute in mid-June over Plamondon's remarks linking Liberals to organized crime prompted legal threats from Milliard, underscoring the campaign's sharpening tone. Other listed candidates trail far behind amid these dynamics.
