Cuba maintains no extradition treaty with the United States, and Castro, now 95, remains in Havana with recent verified public appearances alongside President Miguel Díaz-Canel that countered September health rumors. His grandson has participated in limited bilateral contacts, yet no credible reports indicate any pathway to physical detention by US personnel. Trader consensus reflects these structural barriers—Cuban sovereignty, advanced age, and absence of enforcement mechanisms—while noting that late developments such as major regime shifts or health-related travel could theoretically alter probabilities before any resolution deadline.
