August exports rose 68.7% year-over-year, accelerating to an 82.6% jump in early September data, fueled by memory-chip demand tied to AI infrastructure and high-bandwidth memory pricing power. The Ministry of Economy and Finance upgraded its assessment to a "solid recovery," citing improving domestic demand alongside external risks from tariffs and Middle East tensions. The September 14–16 Central Asia summit in Seoul, focused on trade, investment, and supply-chain cooperation, represents a near-term catalyst, while broader equity markets monitor U.S. inflation releases and any FOMC signals that could influence risk appetite and the won. Trader positioning reflects these fundamentals through elevated volumes, with the fund's year-to-date advance near 88–94% underscoring sustained momentum into the period.
