Recent NVIDIA hardware launches, including the Space-1 Vera Rubin module unveiled at GTC in March 2026, have accelerated trader focus on orbital AI data centers by addressing power and cooling limits that constrain terrestrial expansion. Major players such as SpaceX, which is advancing large satellite constellations for inference workloads, and Blue Origin are exploring solar-powered orbital facilities, while startups like Starcloud and Orbital prepare test missions targeted for 2027. These efforts build on earlier proof-of-concept flights and reflect growing interest in leveraging constant sunlight and radiation-hardened chips to scale large language model inference beyond Earth-based bottlenecks, with regulatory and launch timelines serving as key swing factors for market resolution.
