Strong southeasterly winds under clear high-pressure conditions are anchoring Cape Town’s September 17 maximum near 19 °C, aligning with the 72.5 % market-implied probability. Official forecasts from multiple models project a daytime peak of 18–19 °C amid dry air and gusts exceeding 40 km/h, which enhance mixing and limit further warming despite abundant spring sunshine. This range sits close to the long-term September average high for the city’s Mediterranean climate. With no incoming fronts or cloud build-up expected before evening, the distribution of lower-probability outcomes at 18 °C and 20 °C reflects minor model spread in peak timing and exact wind strength rather than any fundamental shift in the synoptic pattern.
