Recent National Weather Service forecasts and ensemble model consensus indicate a high near 78–80°F for New York City on September 16 under mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies and light southerly flow, aligning with the market’s heavy weighting toward the 78–79°F and 80–81°F bins. Afternoon temperatures are expected to peak in the upper 70s to low 80s before modest evening cooling, consistent with climatological norms for mid-September when average highs reach about 76°F. Limited cloud cover and dry conditions support the upper end of the favored range, while any earlier-than-expected increase in marine influence or minor model shifts could cap readings closer to 77°F. Updated NHC and local office guidance through the afternoon will provide the final observational data for market resolution.
