**Current forecasts from NOAA-affiliated and meteorological sources point to a daily minimum in the mid-60s°F for Los Angeles on September 17, 2026, primarily at coastal stations like LAX.** This aligns with market-implied odds favoring the 68-69°F (35.5%) and 66-67°F (25.5%) ranges, reflecting trader consensus on typical September marine-layer moderation. Persistent low clouds and fog overnight, driven by onshore southwest flow and the seasonal marine layer, prevent radiative cooling and keep overnight lows from dropping sharply. Recent heat-wave conditions with daytime highs in the upper 70s to low 90s (depending on microclimate) have slightly elevated minimums compared to the 1991-2020 average low of 63.6°F for the date, but models show no strong offshore Santa Ana event to push readings significantly higher. Inland areas may see lows closer to 70°F, yet official resolution likely tracks a representative station near 65-68°F. Key upcoming inputs include final NWS hourly observations and any late-model adjustments to boundary-layer moisture. Historical precedent shows rare extremes below 58°F or above 75°F on this date, underscoring the narrow uncertainty band traders are pricing.
