Recent National Weather Service and model consensus forecasts for downtown Los Angeles and nearby stations indicate a September 16 high in the mid to upper 70s, driven by persistent marine layer influence and moderate southwest onshore flow that limits daytime heating. This pattern aligns with the climatological average high of 76°F and current conditions showing no strong offshore winds or clear-sky radiative warming to push readings higher. Trader emphasis on the 76-77°F bin reflects these stable, near-normal conditions, with lower probabilities assigned to warmer bins absent any forecast shift from updated model runs or observed temperature trends through the afternoon.
