Recent National Weather Service and model guidance points to a strengthening upper-level ridge over the Pacific Northwest, delivering clear skies, light northerly winds, and strong September insolation that should push Seattle’s daily maximum into the mid-70s on the 17th. After a cool early-month start, this pattern shift has lifted forecast highs from the upper 60s to 72–76 °F across local and ensemble runs, with limited cloud cover or marine influence expected to keep values from exceeding the mid-70s. The market’s heavy weighting toward 74–75 °F (50.5 %) and 76–77 °F (26 %) therefore reflects this consensus warming signal and the narrow uncertainty range typical for a short-term, ridge-dominated regime. Updated model runs and any late adjustments to onshore flow strength remain the key near-term catalysts.
