Close trader consensus around 74–77°F for Austin’s minimum temperature on September 15 reflects lingering spread across short-range forecast models, driven by uncertainty in overnight radiative cooling under variable cloud cover and light winds. National Weather Service guidance and ensemble runs show modest disagreement on boundary-layer moisture and any weak frontal influence that could limit the diurnal range or enhance mixing. Historical September minima in central Texas average near 70°F with standard deviations of several degrees, underscoring how small shifts in 850-hPa temperatures or dew points can alter outcomes. Updated model cycles and evening surface observations from local stations will provide the next high-impact data points before market resolution.
