Recent forecast consensus from models such as GFS and ECMWF, aligned with Met Office and local New Zealand guidance, positions a high of 15–16°C as the most likely outcome for Wellington on September 14 under partly cloudy skies and light northerly winds. These conditions reflect typical early-spring patterns, with daytime maxima a few degrees above the historical September average of roughly 12.5–13°C. Trader emphasis on 16°C at 54% implied probability versus 15°C at 36.5% tracks the narrow range of current ensemble runs, which show limited variability in maximum temperatures ahead of the final 48-hour updates. Resolution hinges on the official daily high recorded at the Wellington observing site.
