Recent forecasts from Environment Canada and numerical weather models projected overnight minimum temperatures near 17–19°C for Toronto on September 8, consistent with the historical average low of 15.2°C for the date and the market’s heavy weighting toward 16°C. Mild conditions stemmed from light southerly flow, limited radiational cooling under increasing cloud cover, and the absence of strong cold-air advection or clear-sky nights that could drive sharper drops. Preliminary observations and model consensus reinforced this range rather than the cooler tail below 13°C or warmer outcomes above 17°C. With official station data still undergoing verification, traders are positioning around the most probable recorded low while awaiting final Environment Canada confirmation.
