This market will resolve according to the winner of the Democratic Primary for Governor of Maine, scheduled to take place on June 9, 2026. Resolution will be based on the overall winner of the primary, including any potential second round or run-off. If no 2026 Maine Gubernatorial Democratic Primary takes place, this market will resolve to “Other.” The resolution source for this market will be the first official announcement of the results from the Maine Democratic Party; however, an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting may suffice.Recent polls from early May, including surveys by Schoen Cooperman and GQR, show Nirav Shah holding a lead among likely Democratic primary voters ahead of the June 9 contest, driven by his experience as former Maine CDC director during the COVID-19 response and subsequent federal role. This positioning aligns with trader consensus favoring Shah, though the race remains competitive under ranked-choice voting, where second preferences among Troy Jackson's legislative record and labor support, Hannah Pingree's policy experience and family ties, and Shenna Bellows' statewide office could redistribute votes. A recent final debate highlighted shared priorities on housing costs, healthcare access, and property taxes without major shifts. The primary's use of ranked-choice balloting and limited undecided voters keep outcomes fluid until election day.
