**US Dollar Index (DXY) has consolidated near 99.10–99.20 amid mixed inflation signals and shifting Federal Reserve expectations ahead of the September 16 FOMC meeting.** Hotter-than-expected August CPI (headline +0.4% MoM, core +0.3%) and sticky PPI readings lifted September rate-hike probabilities sharply—to roughly 88% for a 25-basis-point increase—supporting the dollar via firmer Treasury yields and widened rate differentials. Geopolitical tensions and elevated energy prices have added safe-haven demand, while softer labor-market momentum and positioning data cap upside. DXY has traded in a recent 98.6–99.7 range with year-over-year gains near 1.6%, reflecting trader consensus on a data-dependent policy path rather than a decisive directional breakout.
