Persistent marine layer influence and onshore flow from the Pacific are keeping Seattle cooler than the late-August climatological average high near 75°F, with official National Weather Service forecasts calling for a high of 66–70°F on August 29 amid morning rain, afternoon showers or possible thunderstorms, and lingering cloud cover that limits solar heating. Light winds and a stable boundary layer further suppress warming, while model consensus from recent runs shows limited afternoon clearing that could push readings briefly into the low 70s but is unlikely to exceed that threshold. These conditions align with market-implied odds favoring the 68–69°F bin, as traders incorporate the latest NWS guidance and historical analogs for similar marine-influenced days. The market resolves to the official highest temperature recorded at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
