This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the lowest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Wellington Intl Airport Station in degrees Celsius on 13 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the lowest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=nzwn If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C. This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Trader consensus centers on a 7°C minimum for Wellington on September 13, 2026, with overwhelming market-implied odds of 99.5%.** This reflects alignment across official forecasts from MetService and other monitoring sources, which project overnight radiative cooling under clearing skies and light southerly winds easing to variable or calm conditions. Current observations show daytime highs near 15°C with partly cloudy skies transitioning to clearer periods, allowing temperatures to fall steadily through the evening toward the expected low. Supporting evidence includes consistent model outputs and station data indicating the overnight minimum will settle at or very near 7°C, consistent with typical early-spring climatology for the region under a building high-pressure influence. Minor outcomes like 8°C or lower values carry negligible odds because they would require notable deviations such as increased cloud cover suppressing cooling, stronger winds mixing the boundary layer, or localized microclimate effects at the official recording site. Realistic challenges remain limited given the advanced hour and forecast stability, but unexpected changes in wind direction or thicker low-level cloud could nudge the recorded low slightly higher or, less likely, allow brief further cooling. The market’s near-certainty mirrors the narrow uncertainty range in the latest guidance from authoritative New Zealand meteorological agencies.
