Recent National Weather Service forecasts and model consensus indicate a high of 77–79°F for Chicago on September 6, driven by northeasterly flow advecting cooler, drier air behind the early-September heat wave that produced highs near 95°F. Persistent high pressure and lake moderation are expected to limit afternoon warming, aligning with climatological norms around 80°F while suppressing any late-season warmth. Trader emphasis on the 78–79°F bin reflects this stable outlook, with limited upside risk from model variability or wind shifts before resolution. Updated NWS guidance and morning observations will provide the final inputs.
