Recent National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance positions the September 15 high temperature in New York City near 71–72 °F under mostly clear skies following a northwest flow behind Monday’s front. This places the 72–73 °F bin as the clear market leader at 42 % implied probability, with adjacent 70–71 °F and 74–75 °F outcomes capturing the remaining model spread. Typical mid-September climatology supports daytime maxima in the low 70s when onshore flow remains light and subsidence dominates, while the absence of significant moisture or southerly advection keeps upside risk low. Updated model runs through the weekend will determine whether any late adjustments shift trader consensus.
