This market will resolve according to the candidate who wins the nomination for the Republican Party to contest the FL-09 congressional district seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2026 midterm elections. The Republican primary will take place on August 18, 2026. If no nominee is announced by November 3, 2026, 11:59PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market will be a consensus of official Republican sources, including https://www.rnc.org/. Any replacement of the nominee before election day will not change the resolution of the market. The tight race in Florida's 9th Congressional District Republican primary stems from a crowded field of candidates with overlapping platforms centered on lowering living costs, fighting inflation, and economic concerns in a newly redrawn district. A Victory Insights poll from early August showed Jorge Martinez, Thomas Chalifoux, and Ben Butler statistically tied near the top, with Dan Green close behind and over 40% of likely voters undecided, leaving limited separation among contenders. Butler's recent endorsement from Rep. Anna Paulina Luna has supported his narrow lead in trader pricing, while candidate forums, questionnaires, and limited name recognition across the field have sustained the competitive balance ahead of the August 18 primary. Late endorsements, turnout patterns, or final-week momentum could still shift the outcome among the top four.
