Recent National Weather Service and private model guidance shows Austin highs on September 2 centered near 99–100 °F under continued southerly flow and strong solar heating, consistent with the market’s near-even split between the 98–99 °F and 100–101 °F bins. Persistent high pressure and low morning dew-point spreads favor rapid temperature rise after sunrise, while modest afternoon cumulus development or slight steering-flow adjustments can shave or add a degree or two at peak. Historical climatology places the early-September average around 94 °F, so the current warm anomaly reflects both late-summer persistence and limited frontal influence through the short-range window; updated 12z runs and any observed cloud trends will be the next key inputs for traders.
