Recent National Weather Service and model guidance for Los Angeles on September 18, 2026, indicate a typical late-summer pattern dominated by a persistent marine layer, with morning low clouds and fog giving way to afternoon sunshine and southwest winds around 10–15 mph. This setup supports a daily maximum near the 1991–2020 climatological average of 76.2 °F at downtown or LAX stations. Forecast highs cluster in the mid- to upper 70s across ensembles, with limited potential for 80 °F+ readings absent stronger offshore flow. The market’s heavy weighting toward 76–77 °F reflects this consensus and the low probability of significant deviation on a day without notable synoptic forcing. Updated afternoon observations or final NWS verification will resolve the market.
