Hsu Hsin-ying, the Kuomintang nominee and sitting legislator, leads the Hsinchu County magistrate race with an 82.5% implied probability in current trading, reflecting her successful March 2026 primary victory over deputy magistrate Chen Chien-hsien and the party's long hold on the office since 2001. The Democratic Progressive Party's June 2026 nomination of Jhubei Mayor Cheng Chao-fang as its candidate accounts for the secondary 17.5% price, amid ongoing party efforts to unify ahead of the November 28 vote. Minor probabilities for other names, including Lin Szu-ming and Chen Chien-hsien, align with limited polling visibility and the two-party dominance typical in county magistrate contests. KMT internal tensions from the primary remain a noted factor that could influence turnout or coalition dynamics in the final months.
