Chung Tung-chin, the incumbent Miaoli County magistrate running as an independent with pan-Blue alignment, holds an 88.5% implied probability in the Polymarket election winner market ahead of the November 28, 2026 vote. This positioning reflects his strong local incumbency advantage, consistent high approval ratings exceeding 80% across governance categories in May 2026 satisfaction surveys, and receipt of administrative performance awards. The DPP-nominated challenger Chen Pin-an sits at 7%, consistent with the party's limited historical success in this traditionally KMT-leaning county where no major KMT candidate has been fielded. Recent campaign activity and reporting from August 2026 describe Chung's re-election as near-certain barring major unforeseen shifts, aligning with trader consensus on the limited competitive threat from other listed options.
