Maryland's 1st congressional district remains a Republican-leaning seat on the Eastern Shore and eastern Baltimore County suburbs, where incumbent Andy Harris secured the GOP nomination in the June 2026 primary with over 80 percent of the vote. Democratic nominee Dan Schwartz advanced from a contested primary but faces structural challenges in a district rated Solid or Safe Republican by multiple forecasters. An earlier Democratic-led redistricting effort that aimed to improve party prospects failed in the state Senate. Traders assign the Republican Party an 85.5 percent implied probability of victory, consistent with the district's voting history and Harris's multiple prior reelections, while the November 3 general election timeline leaves limited room for late shifts absent major developments.

A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
