Republican incumbent Max Miller faces significant headwinds in Ohio's 7th district after extensive domestic abuse allegations surfaced in court records and reporting during July and early August 2026. The claims, which Miller denies, prompted ethics committee scrutiny, calls for his resignation from some GOP figures, and sustained media attention through mid-August. Democratic nominee Brian Poindexter has capitalized on the controversy in a district that leaned Republican in recent cycles. Traders on Polymarket have priced in substantial risk to Miller's reelection prospects, assigning the Democratic Party a 76% implied probability of victory ahead of the November 3 general election. Recent polls show a narrower contest, but the allegations remain the dominant factor shaping current market positioning.
