Incumbent Republican Mike Carey faces Democrat Don Leonard in Ohio’s 15th congressional district on November 3, 2026. The district carries a Republican Partisan Voting Index of R+5 and has been rated Solid Republican by the Cook Political Report, reflecting its consistent partisan lean and Carey’s prior victories. Both parties completed primaries in May, with Carey advancing uncontested on the Republican side and Leonard securing the Democratic nomination. Trader consensus at roughly 78.5% for Republicans aligns with the seat’s structural advantages and limited competitive signals to date, while the narrower Democratic share accounts for potential national midterm shifts or turnout variables that could narrow the margin in this battleground-leaning district.
