South Carolina's 7th congressional district maintains a strong Republican tilt, reflected in its R+12 Partisan Voter Index and consistent ratings as a safe or solid Republican seat by forecasters including the Cook Political Report and Sabato's Crystal Ball. Incumbent Russell Fry advanced unopposed through the June 2026 Republican primary after winning reelection with nearly 65% in 2024, while Democrat John Vincent secured the Democratic nomination in an uncontested primary. These structural advantages, combined with limited Democratic infrastructure and fundraising in the Myrtle Beach-Florence area, underpin trader consensus favoring the Republican nominee at 93.5%. A Democratic upset would require an unusually large national midterm swing, unexpected candidate withdrawal, or major local scandal—developments not currently signaled in polling aggregates or campaign filings.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
