Virginia's 11th congressional district maintains a strong Democratic lean rooted in its Northern Virginia suburban demographics and voting history, giving incumbent James Walkinshaw a clear structural edge in the 2026 general election. Walkinshaw advanced through the Democratic primary with substantial fundraising and cash reserves, while Republican challenger Arthur Purves shows minimal financial support. Attempts at mid-decade redistricting that could have altered the map were blocked by court rulings, preserving the existing boundaries. Trader consensus reflects these fundamentals, though an unforeseen national wave, late scandal, or major health event involving the incumbent could still shift outcomes before November.

A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
