Official forecasts from the National Weather Service and major models converge on a daily high near 100°F for Austin on September 15 under persistent southerly flow, strong high pressure, and minimal cloud cover, producing the tight clustering around the 98–103°F bins. Subtle model differences in afternoon dew points, boundary-layer mixing, and any thin cirrus could shift the peak by 1–3°F, explaining why 100–101°F leads narrowly while 102–103°F remains competitive. With no fronts or significant moisture expected through the period, the market reflects consensus on continued late-summer heat rather than any single catalyst. Updated NWS guidance and afternoon model runs on September 14 will provide the next key data points.
