**Approaching Hurricane Lana, now a Category 1 system east of the Bahamas with an eye projected near South Florida by Friday, is the main driver of trader sentiment for Miami’s September 10 minimum temperature.** Persistent easterly winds, extensive cloud cover, and widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected to limit nighttime radiative cooling and maintain elevated dew points near 78–80 °F. Official NWS guidance currently points to lows in the upper 70s to low 80s, aligning with the closely matched market probabilities around 78–81 °F. Historical September 10 averages near 77 °F provide context, but the tropical moisture plume and potential rain-cooled air introduce uncertainty that supports the notable 24 % implied odds for 73 °F or below. Updated National Hurricane Center track and intensity forecasts, plus revised local model runs over the next 48 hours, will be the key data releases likely to shift positioning before resolution.
