The 2027 Baja California gubernatorial race remains wide open a year out, with trader odds clustered tightly because Morena’s internal nomination process has yet to produce a clear consensus frontrunner while opposition parties continue evaluating their own fields. Recent internal surveys show Tijuana Mayor Ismael Burgueño holding the strongest position among Morena aspirants, yet other listed contenders—including Víctor Galicia, Montserrat Caballero Ramírez, and Karla Ruiz Macfarland—retain measurable support, reflecting fluid party coordination and the absence of formal ballots. No major scandals, endorsements, or primary dates have shifted momentum decisively in recent weeks, leaving the outcome sensitive to upcoming party conventions, polling trends, and coalition negotiations that could consolidate or fragment preferences ahead of the general election.
