Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.Latest National Weather Service and NOAA model guidance for Chicago on September 2 shows a strong high-pressure ridge promoting southerly flow and downslope warming, with ensemble means centered near 93°F. The near-even split between the 92-93°F (42.5%) and 94-95°F (37.5%) bins reflects modest spread in GFS and ECMWF runs, driven by uncertainty in boundary-layer mixing and urban heat-island amplification. Historical September maxima average 82°F, so this setup represents a significant positive anomaly. Traders are watching the next model cycle and afternoon observations for any westward shift in the ridge that could trim peak readings by 1–2°F.
