**Official forecasts from the National Weather Service and supporting models position the daily high for Los Angeles on September 13, 2026, in the upper 70s, driving the 75.5% market-implied probability for the 78-79°F bin.** Morning marine layer and patchy fog, typical for coastal Southern California in mid-September, are expected to clear by late morning under southwest winds of 10-15 mph, allowing temperatures to peak near 78-79°F at key stations like LAX before any afternoon sea breeze moderates further warming. This aligns closely with the 1991-2020 climatological average high of 76.4°F for the date and recent model consensus showing limited deviation from seasonal norms. Traders appear to weigh the narrow resolution window and low chance of significant warming from stronger offshore flow or clearer skies, keeping adjacent bins (76-77°F and 80-81°F) at much lower implied odds. Updated afternoon observations and final NWS verification will determine the exact high.
