Recent model consensus from NOAA and private forecasters points to a low in the mid-to-upper 50s°F for Chicago on September 14, following a weak cold front that cleared Saturday night and introduced drier, northerly flow. Overnight radiational cooling under partly cloudy skies and light winds will determine whether temperatures dip toward 55°F or hold near 60°F, with historical averages near 59°F providing context. Trader sentiment remains closely split between sub-50°F and 68°F+ outcomes because ensemble spreads in short-range guidance show notable sensitivity to cloud cover timing and boundary-layer mixing, creating genuine uncertainty around the precise minimum ahead of the next data release from updated model runs.
