Current National Weather Service and model guidance for Chicago on September 15, 2026, points to an overnight low in the mid- to upper 60s amid scattered showers and southwesterly flow shifting northwest, keeping minimum temperatures above the long-term average low of roughly 59°F. This forecast consensus underpins elevated market-implied odds for 60–69°F ranges while the 46.5% probability on 59°F or below captures residual uncertainty from the prior day’s 53°F reading and potential model spread in nocturnal cooling rates. Thunderstorm timing and cloud cover will be the key variables influencing whether the minimum dips near or below seasonal norms before resolution.
