Latest National Weather Service and model guidance point to a high temperature in the mid to upper 70s for Los Angeles on September 22, driven by a persistent marine layer and moderate onshore southwest flow that limits daytime heating. Morning low clouds and fog are expected to clear gradually, allowing partial sun but not enough to push readings much above recent daily maxima near 76–78°F. This consensus across GFS and local forecasts explains the tight split in market-implied odds between the 74–75°F and 76–77°F bins, with lower probabilities for outliers reflecting typical September variability under stable onshore conditions. Any late adjustments in clearing timing or wind strength could shift the exact peak within that narrow range.
