Official National Weather Service forecasts for Dallas on September 20, 2026, project a daytime high in the mid- to upper 90s under partly sunny skies, light southerly flow, and modest afternoon heating, aligning closely with the market's dominant 96-97°F outcome. Current surface observations and model consensus show temperatures climbing steadily through the afternoon without significant cloud cover or precipitation to limit insolation. This positioning exceeds the 1991–2020 September average high near 89°F yet remains well below the date's all-time record of 102°F. Late-day thunderstorm development or a faster wind shift could cap the peak a degree or two lower, though forecaster guidance assigns low probability to such cooling effects before sunset.
