Recent forecast models from MetService and international agencies indicate a high of 14–15°C in Wellington on September 16, driven by northwesterly flow ahead of a frontal system that brings increased cloud cover and a 25–40% chance of light showers. These conditions align with early-spring climatology for the region, where average September maxima reach about 15°C, limiting strong warming despite the northerly winds. Trader consensus favors 15°C as the most likely peak under current guidance, with 16°C remaining plausible only if clearer skies allow greater insolation; lower outcomes like 14°C gain traction if showers arrive earlier or winds shift. Updated model runs and official briefings over the next 48 hours will refine these probabilities before resolution.
