With the 2027 Oscars still months away and most 2026 releases yet to screen, trader sentiment for Best Adapted Screenplay reflects early positioning around high-profile adaptations rather than locked-in momentum. The Black Ball leads at 34.5% implied probability, followed by The Invite at 26.5% and The Odyssey at 22.5%, as markets weigh source-material prestige, attached directors, and studio campaigns against historical patterns where guild and critics' awards often realign frontrunners. Lower-priced options such as Project Hail Mary and Dune: Part Three sit in single digits, underscoring uncertainty over which films will secure nominations and how late reviews or box-office performance could shift the field. Upcoming festival premieres and precursor season will likely drive the next meaningful moves.
