The 2028 presidential field shows a fragmented trader consensus with no candidate exceeding a 21 percent share, reflecting the early stage of the cycle before major primaries or national conventions consolidate support. JD Vance leads among listed options amid Republican positioning after the prior term, while Democratic probabilities spread across progressive and moderate figures such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Jon Ossoff. This dispersion arises because key catalysts—including 2026 midterm results, formal candidate announcements, and early-state polling—have yet to produce clear frontrunners or eliminate contenders. Separation is likely to emerge from primary vote thresholds, endorsement patterns, and electoral math in swing states once the nomination processes advance.
